SZA sits down with GQ and talks about how she felt after being snubbed at the Grammys. Ultimately she was “mad as hell” but is getting over it and learning from the experience. This has been the interview I’ve been waiting on! For the longest I wondered when SZA would address getting snubbed at the Grammys and it’s all in this interview.
Honestly when she described how she felt after losing it made me a little sad because I want her to know she didn’t fail us in anyway. We’re all so proud of her and will always be. She’s a winner in our eyes regardless. The Grammys don’t define her in any shape or form. CTRL is bigger than that trophy, so if they cant recognize her artistry that’s on them.
The whole Alessia Cara topic is touchy. Nobody is taking away from her talent because she’s talented as hell. I guess everyone felt like if you release an album in 2016 or whatever why is it nominated for best new artist in 2018? I blame the Grammys… but whatever we’ve all moved on, congrats to her.
